Are you looking for a laptop to play League of Legends? Are you tired of your current pc rowing and preventing you from climbing the ladder? You are in the right place.

Unlike other high-end games, LoL is fairly well optimized to run on laptops with decent specifications. In other words, unlike the latest Assassin’s Creeds, to play League of Legends, you won’t have to go broke.

Well if you play all other games and want to play modern games in under 500$ then check out our post of best gaming laptops under 500

I have compiled for you a list of the 5 best gaming laptops capable of running League of Legends in optimal conditions while avoiding skinning your wallet.

But before going directly into the heart of the matter, a little analysis is necessary so that you can understand the reasons behind the choice of each of these computers.

With hundreds of gaming laptops currently available on the market, it can be difficult to decide which one to choose. Are you going to opt for one with more RAM? The best graphics card? A bigger screen? Or the one with the backlit keyboard?

To play League of Legends on PC we must meet a series of requirements, which in many cases do not meet most pre-assembled computers on the market, including laptops. To run smoothly League of Legends the following features are necessary:

Minimum requirements

  • 2 GHz processor
  • 1 GB of RAM (2 GB of RAM or more is recommended for Windows Vista and Windows 7).
  • 8 GB of free hard disk space
  • Graphics card compatible with Shader 2.0
  • Screen resolutions up to 1920 × 1200
  • 3 GHz processor
  • 2 GB of RAM (4 GB of RAM or more is recommended for Windows Vista and Windows 7).
  • 12 GB of free hard disk space
  • GeForce 8800 graphics card or equivalent (dedicated GPU with 512 MB of graphics memory (VRAM) or more)
  • Compatible with DirectX v9.0c or higher
  • Windows XP with the latest Service Pack installed, Windows Vista with the latest Service Pack installed, Windows 7 with the latest Service Pack installed, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10
  • The latest update of the Microsoft .NET Framework

Gaming laptop or desktop PC Which is better?

We have all had this doubt, which is better a laptop or a PC. It seems difficult, but trust me, today there are no major price differences between them and for most cases, both offer similar performance.

Either to play LOL or for any other title you can choose a laptop, do not be afraid because it falls short or because the battery fails in time, things have improved and much. If you don’t know which one to choose, ask yourself these questions:

  • Do I need to transport it from one place to another?
  • Do I need to use it in places where to plug it in?
  • Do I have peripherals such as a keyboard, speakers or monitor? If not, can I afford it?

Best Laptop For League of Legends

Asus ROG FX553VD-DM136T

The ASUS ROG FX553VD is one of that kind of computers that are perfectly suited for League of Legends. If you want to play LOL with all the settings blocked on High, then this is exactly what you need.

With the 7th generation Intel Core i5-7300HQ processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card, this device can easily run games that require much more power than League of Legends.

It has a 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD but also a 128 GB SSD for even faster booting of your games and your operating system. As ASUS claims, it can actually last up to 5 hours away from an electrical outlet, which is really cool for a gaming-oriented laptop.

It also has a backlit keyboard called Aura RGB which has four different zones, each of which can be controlled according to your preferences.

Combine it all with an excellent quality/price ratio, a sober but elegant design as well as a contained weight and you probably get the best gaming computer under 1000 euros at the moment.

Of course, this Asus FX553 is not perfect. When over-stressed, it tends to heat up, which is why I highly recommend purchasing a cooling plate with it.

In short, this computer is a real favourite and has also recommended it to friends, I can only guarantee that it does the job.

Acer Aspire A715-71G-57JW

best laptop for league of legends

Acer Aspire A715 is one of those rare laptops that I can easily recommend for almost any use case if you just need a good, versatile laptop below 700 Euros.

Under these “normal” computer features hides a good little gaming pc.

For a budget laptop, it offers more than enough performance to handle League of Legends. If you spend most of your time playing LOL, watching movies, browsing, etc., this Acer brand laptop is perfect for you.

It is also suitable for professional users because it comes with an Intel Core i5-7300HQ processor, 8 GB of DDR3L RAM and 1 TB of the hard drive. Its graphics segment is managed by an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 2 GB of RAM which is a more than adequate GPU for playing games.

It is certainly not comparable to “real” pc gamers but it will be able to manage most games, including LOL.

Features
Processor: Intel Core i5-7300HQ
Screen: 15.6-inch FHD 1920 × 1080 pixels

The Lenovo Y520 is one of the most stylish gaming laptops for less than 1000 euros and that’s good because it is also very powerful.

Turning games like League of Legends is a formality for this pc thanks to its high-end specifications including the Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, 8 GB of DDR3L RAM, 128 GB of SSD, 1 TB of hard drive and the very powerful NVIDIA GeForce 1060 with 6 GB of video memory.

It is a real war machine.

The on-board configuration is sufficient to manage all kinds of games and applications. It is available in many variations where you can choose between SSD and HDD as well as 8 GB or 16 GB of RAM.

It has a correct battery which can last around 4.5 hours during navigation. It has a 15-inch Full HD IPS screen with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels, and let’s face it, we don’t really need more.

If like me you like thin, light and elegant computers, then you will love the Lenovo Y520.

In terms of gameplay, LoL will run smoothly on all the settings set to High.

One of the drawbacks of this pc is battery life. Current estimates put it at just under 3 hours of play, which means it’s a laptop that you’ll need to keep plugged in when you’re playing.

The on-board graphics card, the Nvidia Geforce 1050ti is largely powerful enough to run League of Legends but also most of the current games in good conditions.

Reducing FPS on League of Legends: The Guide

1 – Install a custom map

Did you know that you are able to install custom maps in on League Of Legends? Yes, you don’t have to play all the time on the classic summoner flaw!

Not only that, but you can also install Custom Champion Skins, Custom Minion Skins and even Custom Monster Skins if you want.

The first effective method to increase the FPS in your League Of Legends game is to install a Custom Rift Skin. A lot of people ignore it, but the classic summoner flaw map draws a lot of resources from your laptop, which dramatically decreases your FPS.

Even if you set the video settings to “Very Low”, there are still many things that decrease your FPS. This is why you need a summoner flaw map “Low Definition”! How to do? Follow the guide!

Let’s start with the first method.

First, you will need to download a program called Wooxy . Wooxy is a completely free program.

After downloading the program, you can proceed to the second step.

Now go to the Mapskins site and download the map of your choice. Try the different resolutions until you find the one that suits you best in terms of comfort.

2 – Modify the Game.cfg

Did you know that in your League Of Legends folder, you will find inside a game.cfg file that you can modify according to your tastes?

If you understand everything that is displayed in the game.cfg file, you can improve the appearance of League Of Legends or make it lighter. You can also increase your FPS if you edit the game.cfg file correctly.

This second method is quite tricky so follow these steps very carefully. If you damage your League Of Legends game for any reason, I will not take any responsibility for your actions. But you can always contact me if you run into an obstacle or want me to guide you through the process.

Now let’s start with the second method in this guide.

First, you will need to find your “League Of Legends” folder which is in a “Riot Games” folder. Then click on the “Config” folder and you should be able to locate the game.cfg file.

Find the file and right-click on it. Then choose “Edit”. Then scroll down until you see the “Performance” section. Replace the text you see there with the text below.

 [Performance]
ShadowsEnabled = 0
CharacterInking = 0
EnableHUDAnimations = 0

3 – Hacking the options

I’m sure most of you already know that you can adjust your League Of Legends settings to suit your needs.

Most, if not all, of you, have probably already taken this step. So I’m not going to spend too much time on it.

Put all video settings on very low and deactivate all FPS pumps such as anti-aliasing and shadows and you will see your FPS increase significantly!
